¶ “ENGINEERING! WHY AREN’T WE AT WARP YET!?”
¶ I couldn’t understand it. The Rupture-class cruiser that I’d taken into C9N was brand-new and shouldn’t be having any problems reaching ¾ velocity at all. I also couldn’t understand why Engineering hadn’t responded.
¶ “ENGINEERING – STATUS!”
¶ “Sir, you’re at the Republic Fleet Cloning Facility in Gulfonodi,” came the reply – the speaker was definitely not a part of my 0.0 engineering crew.
¶ I reached up and wiped the artificial amniotic fluid from my eyes and sure enough, I was sitting up in a clone vat. Everything had happened so fast…. The fleet commander had called for the support vessels and we’d leapt into warp… there had been a gunner at the station we were attacking, and then a large fleet of enemy battleships and heavy assault cruisers warped in. I locked the battleship that was designated primary just as Aura warned me that the station’s guns were resolving on us. I gave the order to warp out….
¶ Oh. Now I get it. *sigh*

Over the last week or so, I’ve been going back and re-reading some of the posts I’ve made to the Chronicles category of this blog. Some of it I like, some of it I’m a little iffy on… As I’ve mentioned before, I read a few other blogs regularly, specifically Alia Xi’s blog, flashfresh’s blog and Kane Rizzel’s blog. All three of them are different in their choice of phrasing and in a couple of the literary devices they use to make up for some of the Roleplaying deficiencies of the EVE-Online GUI. In a couple of cases, their way of dealing with these things is much different from my own.
The whole purpose of a Chronicles blog is to maintain RP integrity as much as possible within the post, so from this point on I am going to try to exercise a lot more discipline in my writing here to stick to a more solid RP theme, posting fully in character under the Chronicles catagory tag and keeping anything Out-of-Character confined either to a separate category or to a brief aside within the post, identified by enclosure inside of ((double parentheses)), which I’m sure most RPers will be familiar with.
