Darmok and Jilad on the Ocean
¶ Well, not really Darmok and Jilad. Actually it’s just me, Havohej!
¶ Actually, not Havohej… not in Pirates of the Burning Sea! That would be a terrible pirate name, and one of my aims in this little diversion was to test the roleplaying waters along with the gameplay experience. As a player, I think that the biggest mistake I made with EVE was to not look for the roleplay opportunities from the very beginning. This created a situation where, though I enjoy the game, the simple act of flying around violencing peoples boats isn’t enough and the people I’ve surrounded myself with for the most part do not share my enjoyment of RP. I decided from the outset that if I were going to give this game a chance, RP would be a priority.
