¶ It doesn’t take long to get there, does it?
¶ I’d hoped that the first night as a part of well-known corporation Comply Or Die and even better-known alliance G00DFELLAS, I’d be able to log at least one kill. So, as I made my way from Hedaleolfarber to H-ADOC my Republic Fleet Issue Stabber, I kept the guns spinning and the warp disruptor warmed up and my eyes on the long-range scanners just hoping for a target of opportunity to present itself. Interference from the EVE Gate was picking up and I knew it wouldn’t be long before I had to shut ‘er down for an hour or so or risk losing her.

This is a video that I found embedded on CrazyKinux’s Musing. It shows a Drake mired down in countless webs and warp scramblers, battling it out with NPC police. He came, he saw, he shot ‘em down until he ran out of F.O.F. missiles (faction police jam you, too) and then he slowboated back to the gate and jumped out of the system with the Gallente Federation even more pissed off at him. The point here is the Drake’s CRAZY tank.
NOTE: These are not CONCORD Police, these are Gallente Federation Police. When your standings drop below a certain point with a given faction, that faction’s police NPCs will attack you as soon as you enter a highsec system. Fighting these faction Police does not get you CONCORDed. …I wouldn’t want to hear about any of you taking your pimped out Drakes into Bille like this guy did and trying to fight CONCORD. It just won’t work out well for you.
¶ For a while, now, I’ve been frustrated with hearing my pilots report that they’ve just jumped into a gate camp. I know as well as they do that they now have a 95% chance of losing their ship. I also know that they have a 15% chance of losing their pod and with it whatever implants they may have plugged in.
¶ Except that it hasn’t been a 15% chance in practice. It’s been nearly 100%! Every time I’ve been online and one of them has jumped into a camp, or every time one of them has logged on and told me about how they lost their ship and got podded, I have briefly explained how to not lose your pod. Unfortunately, it didn’t seem to help. I continued to see capsule entries right behind ship entries in the corp’s confirmed losses column. I decided to post a more detailed explanation on our corporate forum. So far, everyone who’s read it has responded positively so I’ve decided to post it publicly here on the blog.
