¶ In my last Helpful Tips entry, "Core Fitting Skills", the Learning Skills were mentioned. So, I figured they’d be a good topic for this entry.
¶ A lot of people in the Rookie Help channel will preach to noobs that they absolutely must train the learning skills to max before doing anything else, but to be fair, that would make for a rather boring first month in EVE. Few players have the kind of patience that approach requires, so this entry will look at how to get the most out of your training time while still having fun as a new player – after all, video games are supposed to be fun, right?

¶ Interesting series of events for G00DFELLAS, lately.
¶ When I joined Comply Or Die, <GODS> lived in the Curse region where it regularly terrorized all manner of RSF pets, from Kraftwerk. in Scalding Pass to Interstellar Alcohol Conglomerate in Catch, all the way down to killing people like DEFI4NT in Omist.  When I was in DEFI4NT, we used to wonder, “Where does G00DFELLAS live?” so we could go and strike back at them, perhaps, the way they continually struck at us.  We did similar in Stain, going after -A- and Stain Empire on their home turf, after all.  Turns out, they were having fun basing out of the Angel Cartel’s sovereign territory with the benefit of not needing to defend their home against those who would seek to take it away from them.

¶ As mentioned before, I like forums.  Can’t get enough of ‘em.  In the last few months, there have been a lot of crappy whine threads about various non-issues and perceived non-issues.  One such thread even made it to the point of having an Assembly Hall variant, where it was waved around in front of the CSM, as though just being posted in Assembly Hall lends legitimacy to a topic.  So many whines and trolls get posted there that it’s not even funny anymore, even to a troll like me.
¶ Still, this one thread is starting to look more and more valid to me as a player, as laughable as it may be to the ‘big boys’ in EVE.  Actually, several threads: the whines calling for a titan nerf.

¶ A while ago, I pledged to make a post that would be helpful for the newer players in EVE, but I sort of lost track of it… in other words, I sorta forgot about it.
¶ But, I’ve got a wiki that I’ve been populating for the Defias Brotherhood and since DFIAS is closed for the time being, it’s not exactly ’sensitive’ information. However, I don’t want to open the wiki altogether, because I fully intend to rebuild DFIAS at some point in the future and it wouldn’t do to have a whole bunch of users and possibly contributors, only to revoke their access and privatize the wiki all over again. So, some of the information I will post here from time to time – if not once a week, maybe ever two weeks. This will also keep me looking for good things to add to it.

¶ It doesn’t take long to get there, does it?
¶ I’d hoped that the first night as a part of well-known corporation Comply Or Die and even better-known alliance G00DFELLAS, I’d be able to log at least one kill. So, as I made my way from Hedaleolfarber to H-ADOC my Republic Fleet Issue Stabber, I kept the guns spinning and the warp disruptor warmed up and my eyes on the long-range scanners just hoping for a target of opportunity to present itself. Interference from the EVE Gate was picking up and I knew it wouldn’t be long before I had to shut ‘er down for an hour or so or risk losing her.
